Maternity or Pregnancy Leave: 17 weeks after 7 months of employment
Parental Leave (available to either parent): 37 weeks after 7 months of employment
Bereavement: 3 days (if employed for at least 30 days)
Compassionate/ Family Care/ Responsibility:
Employees who have been employed for 30 days or more - Three unpaid personal days to meet family responsibilities.
Family is defined as persons related through blood, marriage, common-law relationship or close friend or neighbours who are considered family. An employee is entitled to a maximum of 13 weeks’ unpaid leave for the donation of an organ.
Employees who have been employed for 30 days or more and have a child under the age of 18 -
Entitled to unpaid leave:
- up to 37 weeks to care for a critically ill child.
- up to 52 weeks if a child has disappeared as a result of a crime.
- up to 104 weeks if a child has died as a result of a crime.
Sick Leave: No minimum standard applies
