British Columbia - 

3-12 mths = 1 week; 

1-3 years = 2 weeks; 

3+ years = 3 weeks, plus 1 week’s pay for each additional year of employment to a maximum of 8 weeks. 


Alberta - 

3 mths-2 years = 1 week; 

2-4 years = 2 weeks; 

4-6 years = 4 weeks; 

6-8 years = 5 weeks; 

8-10 years = 6 weeks; 

10+ years = 8 weeks; Employees cannot be dismissed if they are on maternity leave or entitled to start parental leave. 


Saskatchewan - 

13 consecutive weeks but 1 year or less = 1 week; 

1-3 years = 2 weeks; 

3-5 years = 4 weeks; 

5-10 years = 6 weeks; 

10+ years = 8 weeks 


Manitoba - 

30 days-1 year = 1 week; 

1-3 years = 2 weeks; 

3-5 years = 4 weeks; 

5-10 years = 6 weeks; 

10+ years = 8 weeks 


Ontario - 

< 1 year = one week; 

1-3 years = 2 weeks; 

3-4 years = 3 weeks; 

4-5 years = 4 weeks; 

5-6 years = 5 weeks; 

6-7 years = 6 weeks; 

7-8 years = 7 weeks; 

8+  years = 8 weeks 


Quebec - 

3mths-1year = one week;

Newfoundland and Labrador - 

3mths-2years = one week;
